Calibrating eXacal thermometers

Our eXacal thermometers are calibrated in Klasmeier’s in-house DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory. The independent laboratory works with temperature as the measurement variable. The DAkkS accreditation ensures full traceability of all calibrations to national and international standards. Our calibration services focus on the calibration of temperature norms and use the latest temperature fixed points and calibration equipment.

Particular features of our calibration laboratory:

    • Full-range calibration to temperature fixed points from -189 °C to 962 °C
    • Highest level of precision with uncertainties in the region of mK
    • Our calibration service has access to three sets of temperature fixed points
    • Calibrations can be performed within five working days
    • Short sensors from an immersion depth of 300 mm can be calibrated
    • Professional annealing methods ensure improved thermometer stability

eXacal Thermocouples

Our eXacal thermocouples are calibrated on the basis of ITS-90 temperature fixed points in the range from the triple point of water to the freezing point of silver with an excellent uncertainty level. Alternatively, eXacal thermocouples can be calibrated in a temperature range of between 0°C and 1200°C on the basis of the reference method using platinum/palladium thermocouples or gold/platinum thermocouples as standard.

Resistance thermometers

Our eXacal resistance thermometers are calibrated to ITS-90 fixed points. It is also possible to calibrate the thermometers using the reference method in liquid baths or in calibration furnaces. The uncertainty is calculated on the basis of numerous components. The main factors are the reproducability, ITS-90 reference function, self-heating and hysteresis.
